Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has successfully undergone knee surgery following the injury he sustained during the shoot of NBK111. In its latest medical bulletin, AIG Hospitals confirmed that a detailed evaluation revealed a tear of the left quadriceps tendon, along with injuries to the supporting tissues on both sides of the knee. Based on the assessment, doctors decided to perform surgery to repair the damage and ensure proper healing.
The Surgical Procedure
The procedure lasted over three hours, during which the accumulated blood around the injury was cleared, the torn tendon was reattached to the kneecap, and the damaged supporting tissues were meticulously repaired. The surgery was completed successfully without any complications. Dr. Gowtham Chowdary, Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon at AIG Hospitals, said the focus will now be on protecting the repair and guiding Balakrishna through a structured rehabilitation programme.
Recovery and Rehabilitation
The hospital confirmed that Balakrishna‘s condition is stable and that he remains under close post-operative observation. His recovery will continue to be monitored by a multidisciplinary medical team, with rehabilitation beginning gradually based on his progress. The injury during NBK111 filming occurred during an action sequence, and the production team has since halted shooting to allow Balakrishna adequate time to heal. Fans and members of the film fraternity have continued to pour in wishes for the actor’s speedy recovery.
