Avatar 2 bookings have started on a high note. The movie is expected to become the highest grosser of all time, the distributors are hiking the ticket prices exponentially to achieve this feat. Multiplex giant PVR has opened the bookings with ticket prices that are far too costly.
The ticket prices start at a minimum of 500, and it goes on to 1200, 1300 and even 1500. The rates in IMAX and 4DX are even higher, some rates shown in online platforms are 1650, 1550, 1450, 1350, 1250, 1150, 1050, 950, 870 (these are Bangalore IMAX and 4D ticket prices) These are huge considering standard rates for the multiplexes.
Especially in the time when inflation is hitting hard and people aren’t coming to theaters due to recession like situations, these exorbitant prices are even more discouraging. It’s not a good idea to fleece consumers just because there is massive demand for the movie.
Avatar2 is coming after 13 years since the first part created havoc at the box office across the world. James Cameron has made an underwater adventure movie in avatar universe with high-end technology.
Never his movie failed and people are super confident that this will strike gold as well. Exploiting the credibility of Cameron, ticket prices are skyrocketing. This would backfire as well.
Meanwhile, the first trailer of Avatar the way of Water’s first trailer wasn’t celebrated as it was expected. But its second trailer which was released today got some positive response.
