Anikha Surendra and Arjun Das starrer Butta Bomma has now made its digital premiere. This Telugu remake of the Malayalam film Kappela is now streaming on Netflix. Butta Bomma was released in early February and turned out to be a disaster. The film failed to attract the audience and ran to empty shows in most parts.
The original Malayalam version featured Sreenath Bhasi, Roshan Matthew, and Anna Ben in lead roles. The Telugu version featured Anikha Surendran, Arjun Das, and Surya Vashistta in lead roles. The movie revolves around a naive young girl from a small town who falls in love with an autorickshaw driver over phone calls. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
Debutant director S Chandrasekhar directed Butta Bomma while Sithara Entertainments will bankroll the project. Anikha Surnedran has signed several projects in Tamil and Malayalam now and has transitioned into a lead actress completely.
