Nayanthara, who had a remarkable career as an actress, is now also trying to get success in the business world. Known for her exceptional performances in films, Nayanthara has now entered the film business by purchasing an old property in Chennai, India.
With her husband, Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara acquired the former Agasthiya theaters in north Chennai to their production company, Rowdy Pictures. The Agastya Theatre, previously owned by the Devi Theatre Group, had been operating since 1967 and had showcased the films of legendary Tamil actors such as MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Ajith Kumar, and Thalapathy Vijay. Unfortunately, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the theater had to close its doors in 2020, having served the public for 53 years.
According to the reports, it is said that Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are planning to renovate the theater and transform it into a two-screen facility, with a total capacity of over 1,000. This initiative aims to revive the theater culture and provide a better visual experience for the audience.
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan also run a successful production house that has produced remarkable films like Koozhangal, Netrikann and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Their production company, which was established in 2021, reportedly has a net worth of more than Rs 50 crore. Now with entering into the theaters business, they can expand their wealth and use the same for creating more interesting content.
Actress Nayanthara recently appeared in the Tamil film connect. Her fan’s admirers eagerly await to see her with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s upcoming Hindi film, Jawaan, scheduled for September 7. Moreover, she will further appear in Lady Superstar 75 and The Test, marking her first collaboration with actor R. Madhavan.
