Megastar Chiranjeevi and Mega Powerstar Ram Charan’s much-awaited mega starrer Acharya has been through its fair share of hurdles. It was scheduled to release a while ago but due to lockdowns and reshoots, the film was finally released on 29th April 2022.
But going by the reviews for the film, it looks like Acharya’s woes are still not over. The opening day talk for the film was unanimously negative with little to no positive reviews for the film. This led to a poor opening day collection at the box office.
After a low opening day, Acharya collapsed on day 2, with disastrous collections. Huge losses are expected in major territories with an estimated 50% loss for all the parties involved. The pre-release business of the film has been done for 133 crores.
The trade experts are expecting a closing share of fewer than 60 crores. These stats speak volumes about how disastrous Acharya is turning out to be. Acharya will undoubtedly be a stain on Koratala Siva’s otherwise clean track record. One can only hope that his next venture with NTR turns out better.
