There is no need for the special introduction for 2018 Movie, the latest Malayalam film which was a surprise hit at the box office, and it even went on to become the highest grosser of Mollywood and achieved the industry hit status. After such big success, it got released in other languages as well. However, the film saw a massive drop in the collections and was unable to cross the magical figure of 200 Crores Gross.
The way 2018 Movie had collected before its OTT release was simply sensational as the movie broke all the records and released in other languages and in Telugu also the movie got good collections. The movie tells us the story of many people who are living in the God’s own country, Kerala. Anup (Tovino Thomas), is a former soldier, who fears death and leaves the military. He is mocked by the people in his village. Mathachan (Lal) and her son Winston (Narain) earn their livelihood from fishing, while Koshy (Aju Varghese) drives a taxi for tourists. Ramesh (Vineeth Srinivasan), an IT employee in Dubai, faces relationship troubles with his wife in India, and Sethupathi (Kalayirasan) from Tamil Nadu agrees to transport explosives to Kerala as a truck driver. How did the Kerala floods have an impact on the lives of these people? How were they able to survive that catastrophe? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.
