Devi Sri Prasad is all set to make his debut as a lead actor with the upcoming film Yellamma. The film is directed by Venu Yeldandi, who previously created a sensation with Balagam.

This marks a major new chapter in DSP’s career, as he transitions from being one of India’s busiest music directors to stepping in front of the camera as a hero.

Special 10-Day Agreement for Yellamma

Despite his packed schedule as a music composer, Devi Sri Prasad has signed a special agreement with producer Dil Raju for Yellamma.

DSP himself revealed that he will dedicate only 10 days per month for the film’s shoot. The remaining time will allow him to continue his music commitments without interruption.

Speaking about the arrangement, DSP shared that Dil Raju assured him the film could be completed smoothly even with this limited schedule.

Sukumar’s Old Plan to Launch DSP as Hero

Interestingly, DSP revealed in a recent interview that director Sukumar had planned to introduce him as a hero long ago. However, due to the unfortunate demise of his father, DSP could not focus on that project at the time, and it eventually did not materialize.

He also mentioned that filmmakers like Trivikram Srinivas and Harish Shankar, along with Dil Raju, had been encouraging him to explore acting for years.

Now, with Yellamma, that long-standing dream is finally becoming reality.
