Yash’s much-awaited film, Toxic, continues to face controversies. After drawing criticism for a bold car sex scene in its teaser, the film is now under fire for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
The Women’s Commission had earlier slammed the teaser for its intimate visuals. Now, as reported by Hindustan Times, the National Christian Federation (NCF) has approached the CBFC with a formal complaint.
The group has objected to certain scenes that combine violence and intimacy with Christian religious imagery. The teaser reportedly shows a sex scene inside a car parked near a cemetery, followed by a fierce gunfight. The teaser of Toxic also features Christian religious symbols, including a statue of Archangel Michael. The NCF claims these scenes are disrespectful and offensive.
With the theatrical release of the film scheduled for March 19, it has yet to receive censor clearance, and it remains to be seen how the controversy will impact its release.
