The controversy surrounding Kannada star Yash’s upcoming film Toxic is growing stronger. The Karnataka State Women’s Commission has strongly objected to the bold and obscene intimate scenes shown in the film’s teaser. The Commission has sent a letter to the Censor Board demanding strict action and has also urged the makers to immediately remove the teaser, stating that the scenes are excessively bold and inappropriate.

Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have also filed a complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission regarding the Toxic teaser. AAP state secretary Usha Mohan said in the complaint that the visuals in the teaser could have a negative impact on children’s mental health. She demanded that the teaser be removed from social media platforms immediately.

The film, titled Toxic – A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, stars Yash as the lead and it has been facing heavy criticism online and it enters a controversy due to the way the intimate scenes shown in its glimpse.

Responding to the criticism, director Geethu Mohandas gave a strong reply. She stated that she is not surprised by the comments questioning how a woman director could film such scenes. She added that she is taking the criticism very lightly and is not bothered by it.
