In Telangana, the ticket price for Custody movie in multiplexes is set for Rs 295, which is huge for a medium budget film. Also, the price cap of 295 RS is a maximum available price for any film, and it is surprising that the Custody team went for such giant pricing. The fans and netizens on social media were taken aback by the pricing of the movie, and some of them even warned before the release that this could be proved as a costly mistake by the makers.
Today, as we know Custody released in theaters and opened to mixed response from the audiences and the ticket price in multiplexes seems to have affected the movie. If we observe the recent trend, many medium – range films have opened for a bit less ticket price such as RS 200/250, but Custody makers have opted for high price and as said above, there is a mixed response to the film from the audience, and we should see where it will end at the box office, and whether the decision of the makers going for huge pricing is indeed a costly mistake or not.
Custody, the film, marks the first-ever collaboration between Hero Naga Chaitanya and Director Venkat Prabhu. The film consists of a huge star cast such as Arvind Swami, Sarath Kumar, Krithi Shetty, Priyamani, Premji, Vennela Kishore, Sampath Raj and Ramki in crucial roles.
The film’s music and background score have been composed by Illayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja. This is the first time that they both have worked on a film, while the cinematography was handled by SR Kathir. The theater owners of the Telugu States had piled up big hopes on Custody’s result, but it looks like the film has not lived up to the expectations going by the talk and numbers on the first day.
