Will the Latest Releases follow the Producer’s Council rule for OTT Release!

Recently producers council of Telugu film industry has made a decision to not let their movies stream on OTT until 6 weeks of it’s theatrical release.

This rule sounds good for films that are doing extremely well at box office but the three releases last week have been very bad at attracting audience.

Pakka Commercial, Shikaaru and dubbed movie Enugu, all performed very bad at the box office. Post pandemic, whenever a movie is not performing well at box office, the producers are selling it to OTT.

This way they were able to minimize the losses a bit. However, the new rule stating that movies should be streamed on OTT only after six weeks after their release has created some ruckus already.

Are producers going to stick to this decision or will they sell it to OTT for better price and get the movie streamed as soon as possible is the biggest question everyone has right now.
