Megastar Chiranjeevi sprung back to form with blockbuster Waltair Veerayya earlier this year. The film gave him much-needed success after the massive failure of Acharya and below par performance of Godfather. The Mega Star gave a grand display of his box office stamina with Waltair Veerayya but this success is now showing an adverse impact on Chiranjeevi’s working style.
Waltair Veerayya’s success has convinced Chiru that working in commercial films with small directors is the best way to go ahead. These directors will use all the inputs from him which the big directors will definitely not as they have their own directorial sensibilities and narration style.
So now, Chiranjeevi is looking for small directors only and seeking low-budget commercial films. But this will definitely impact the films as Waltair Veerayya’s blockbuster performance should not be taken as some blueprint for box-office success. To start with, Waltair Veerayya was released during a heavily beneficial season i.e Sankranti. In addition to this, the project had the additional star power of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja.
Even Veera Simha Reddy had weaker content than Waltair Veerayya which further helped this Bobby project to do wonders at the box office. The advantages that Waltair Veerayya had can’t be replicated now in other movies and this is what Chiranjeevi should be cautious of.
