Strong reports are emerging within Telugu Film industry circles that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara may replace his other film Kaaka for the Sankranthi 2027 release slot.
The makers already announced Kaaka, a mass action film directed by Bobby Kolli, for January 13, 2027, as a Sankranti treat. The film brings back the blockbuster combo after Waltair Veerayya’s success.
Vishwambhara Eyeing Sankranthi 2027 Slot
However, speculation is mounting that Vishwambhara, the long-delayed socio-fantasy helmed by Mallidi Vassishta, is also gearing up for a Sankranthi release. Reports suggest it may release instead of Kaaka on the same festive weekend.
Since it’s rare for two massive projects starring the same hero to compete within just four days, only one film will likely release. This prevents conflicts in theater allocation and box office collections.
Kaaka Title Glimpse Receives Massive Response
Kaaka reunites Megastar Chiranjeevi with director Bobby Kolli after their blockbuster collaboration. Made on a grand scale under KVN Productions, the film features Anaswara Rajan and Nivetha Pethuraj in key roles, with music by Thaman.
The film’s title glimpse generated tremendous response from fans. The team announced a worldwide theatrical release on January 13, 2027, as a Sankranti special.
Can Vishwambhara Capitalize on Festival Season?
Amidst this, Vishwambhara is reportedly set to join the Sankranti release race. The visual spectacle, produced by UV Creations, has faced delays due to VFX work. Speculation suggests plans are underway to release it on January 9th or 13th to capitalize on the Sankranti holiday season.
We’ll have to wait for official confirmation, but reports strongly indicate that Vishwambhara is targeting Sankranthi 2027.
