Actor Vijay’s film ‘Varisu’ released in theaters on January 11, 2023, on the occasion of Pongal festival, Varisu opened with above-average reports on its first day, as pre-festival and mixed word of mouth affected it. On opening day also, Varisu had collected fewer collections than its competitor, Thunivu, which had a superb opening.
While it is well known that director Lokesh Kanagaraj will be directing actor Vijay’s next, which is tentatively called ‘Thalapathy 67’, the buzz is that they have finalized the release date of the film. Thalapathy67 will drop on October 19th 2023 a few days before Dasara festival.
Recently, director Gautham Menon had affirmed that he is part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Trisha, Mansoor Ali Khan and Arjun Sarja are too reported to be playing a role in ‘Thalapathy 67’.
Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj had further assured that the film be an action entertainer. The film will be linked with the earlier films of Lokesh as Khaidhi and Vikram.
Speaking to media after viewing ‘Varisu’ , Lokesh Kanagaraj told, “It was refreshing to watch him like this after so many days in a film made for families. I enjoyed it a lot. It felt like watching the ‘Thalapathy’ from the early stages of his career.” When asked about the announcement of his upcoming film with Vijay, he added, “We were waiting for this film (Varisu) all this while to come out. Since it has now been released, I myself will announce the date soon for an update.”
With a lot of speculation on the cast and also if the film will be a part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), the fans are eagerly waiting for every update of the film, and they will be excited with the film’s release date being fixed.
