Superstar Rajinikanth Vettaiyan directed by T.J. Gnanvel was released worldwide yesterday. The star-studded action drama opened with average reviews and word of mouth from audiences. The film had a decent opening day, and considering the genre, the numbers are definitely pretty good.
In Tamil Nadu, Vettaiyan Day 1 box office collections were around 20 Cr while the Telugu state collection is estimated to be in the range of 5 Cr gross. Karnataka collections are closer to 7 Cr while Kerala numbers are in the range of Rs 4 crores.
Overall, the all-India gross is expected to be around Rs 38 Cr while the overseas 1st day numbers are expected to be in the range of $3.5 Million as per early estimates. This brings the Vettaiyan Day 1 opening numbers in the range of Rs 67 Cr worldwide. The film can expect a good hold today due to holiday and with the weekend approaching and Dasara on the way, we can expect to see some pretty good numbers in the coming days.
Directed by T.J. Gnanvel who’s known for his critically acclaimed Jai Bhim, Vettaiyan also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dusshara Vijayan and Ritika Singh in key roles. The action drama is backed by Lyca Productions.
