A case has been filed against director S.S. Rajamouli at the Saroornagar Police Station. Members of the Rashtriya Vanara Sena lodged a complaint stating that Rajamouli’s recent comments about Lord Hanuman during the Globetrotter event hurt the sentiments of Hindus. They requested the police to take action so that no one makes inappropriate remarks about Hindu deities in the future.

Rajamouli is currently directing Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu. The team recently organised a grand title launch event for the film. However, due to a small technical issue, the event was interrupted for a short time. Rajamouli became emotional at that moment and said that he does not believe in God.

He explained, “My father came to me and said, ‘Hanuman stands behind you and guides you.’ My wife loves Hanuman a lot and treats him like a friend. I wondered, ‘Is this what he would do?’” These comments have since gone viral on social media.

Netizens have strongly criticized Rajamouli, questioning his remarks. They commented, “If you want to make a movie, make it. That is your choice. But how can you speak like this about gods? If you don’t believe in God, why talk about Him in this way? When people make mistakes, why blame the gods?”

Recently, members of the Vanara Sena officially filed a case on Rajamouli at the Saroornagar Police Station, stating that his comments hurt Hindu sentiments. It remains to be seen whether this case will end quickly or become a bigger problem for the Varanasi Movie.
