Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab released earlier this month to good reviews. The critics even declared this performance of Pawan Kalyan as one of the finest of his career. Power Star’s comeback to the big screen after 3 years was enough to generate massive hype for the movie. Such were the expectations on the film that it got great openings and occupancies.
However, with theatres shutting down in most areas owing to Covid’s second wave, Dil Raju decided to go for an early OTT release. This Pawan Kalyan’s court drama released on Amazon Prime Video on 30th April. The theatrical run of the movie has officially come to an end and Dil Raju decided the movie will be up on the OTT and secured a great deal.
This early release on OTT hasn’t gone down well with the gulf distributor of Vakeel Saab. Dil Raju had earlier made an agreement that the film will release on OTT only after 50 days of theatrical release. However, with the film releasing in just 21 days, the gulf distributor is demanding compensation. The distributor has incurred losses and is demanding Raju to pay up for half of the loss.
A remake of the 2016 Bollywood movie Pink, Venu Sriram has directed this courtroom drama. The movie also stars Shruti Haasan, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, and Ananya Nagalla in key roles.
