Vamana Rao is a man who rose from a small thief to a corrupt politician and tries to take control, of the public. The rest of the story is about how Satya wins in his attempt to keep things settled or how Kalki tries to take control of everything.
Analysis:
Upendra is known for making crazy movies with different and innovative ideas. With UI, once again the star actor/director tried the same. Even though the underlying philosophy holds merit, the narrative is overly dramatic and takes a substantial amount of time to make sense. Though some scenes come out hilarious, mostly, the proceedings are confusing, loud, and silly. Only if one can understand the basic idea behind this movie, can one find enjoyment in the film and its main themes. Many scenes present a level of complexity that a common movie lover would not understand.
Performances:
Upendra does a good job in a dual role. He displays the trademark mannerisms, histrionics, and everything that his fans want from him. Ravi Shankar, Reeshma Nanaiah, Murali Sharma, and others were okay.
Positives:
Negatives:
- Loud Tone
- Confusing Narration
- Not So Strong Execution of some Interesting Episodes
UI Movie Review and Verdict:
UI is a Crazy but Bland Satirical Film. The main plot of the film is interesting and a few fun episodes along with Upendra’s performance work well for the film, while the exaggerated narration and loudness in most of the scenes work against it. One can enjoy the movie only if he is a die-hard fan of Upendra.
