TVK Women’s Wing Files Complaint
The complaint was filed by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Women’s Wing, which accused Udhayanidhi Stalin of insulting a woman and lowering the standards of political discourse. The controversy quickly snowballed, with the BJP also criticizing the former Deputy Chief Minister and demanding action. An FIR was subsequently registered, following which Chennai Police detained Udhayanidhi from his residence for questioning in connection with the case.
As he was escorted by the police, Udhayanidhi termed the arrest a “joke” and asserted that he had done nothing wrong, adding that he would challenge the action through legal means. The episode has further intensified the political battle between CM Vijay and Opposition Leader Udhayanidhi Stalin, with both parties trading sharp accusations as the controversy continues to dominate headlines in Tamil Nadu.
