Suriya’s Scene in Trouble? Ramayana, Mookuthi Amman 2 & Jailer 2 Grab Screens in Diwali Box Office Clash

Suriya's Scene: Screen count issues in Tamil Nadu

Suriya’s Scene is set to hit theatres on November 6, but a crowded Diwali release calendar is already cutting into its reach. How much room it gets depends heavily on the state, and the picture is uneven across the film’s key markets.

Tamil Nadu

Scene’s home state is where the squeeze hurts most. The film is not getting even half of the screens here. Most of the big allocation is going to Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman 2, which is being released by Red Giant Movies on a very large count. Jailer 2 is still running well and holding a good number of screens, and Ramayana is taking big screen counts in multiplexes.

Telugu States

The Telugu states are a different fight. Aadarsha Kutumbam, Venkatesh’s family drama that was released on October 30, is still playing here. Scene’s Telugu version is being released by NVR Cinemas. Its real challenge is Ramayana. Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations is distributing Ramayana across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at normal ticket rates, and that is pulling in the big screen allocation in a market where Suriya has built a strong following.

Karnataka

Karnataka follows the same pattern. Ramayana is taking big screen counts here, which adds to the competition for Scene in a state that would otherwise be an important part of its opening.

Kerala

Kerala is the exception. Scene is getting a good number of screens there, and the film is expected to set a record opening for Suriya in the state.

North India

North India is where Ramayana is expected to take the most screens of all. For Scene, that means its reach in the region will depend on how much space is left after the bigger release takes its share.

Why Screens Matter

Screen count feeds directly into opening numbers. With fewer shows and fewer theatres in the states where the squeeze is strongest, Scene has less room to turn its buzz into ticket sales in the first days, so the opening weekend will be shaped as much by allocation as by audience response.
