Dhanush’s OM is all set for a big release in the Telugu states. Sithara Entertainments will release the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the makers announced with a new poster.
OM Chapter 1 releases in theatres on November 20.
Sithara Backs OM
Sithara Entertainments is one of Telugu cinema’s leading production and distribution houses, and its backing gives OM a strong push in the Telugu market.
The banner also has a successful history with Dhanush. It produced his bilingual Sir (Vaathi), which became a big hit in the Telugu states. That connection makes this tie-up a natural fit.
A Cast Built for Telugu Audiences
OM has strong potential to perform well in the Telugu states, thanks to its impressive star cast.
Dhanush leads the film, alongside Malayalam superstar Mammootty in a pivotal role. Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela, two heroines with huge followings among Telugu audiences, play key roles too.
Sai Pallavi is one of the most loved actresses in Telugu cinema, and Sreeleela became one of Tollywood’s busiest heroines in recent years. Together with Dhanush’s growing Telugu market, the cast gives OM a strong pull in the region.
The Amaran Director
OM is written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, who made Amaran. That film, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, was a big success across languages, including in the Telugu states.
The Blood Wood Story
The full title is OM Chapter 1: Rudhiram, The Blood Wood. The new poster shows the back of a rusty truck loaded with red logs, hinting at a story set in the world of red sandalwood.
That theme is familiar to Telugu audiences, which could help the film connect even more in the region.
