Udhayanidhi Stalin announces retirement for movies

Actor, Producer, Ruling DMK’s youth wing secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin took oath as state minister at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan in Chennai.

He has earlier stated that his upcoming film Maamannan will be his final project. He made this decision so that he could concentrate on his political career.

He won as MLA in the last elections and now he elected for Youth welfare and sports ministry and he announces retirement for movies. From now he won’t sign any new movie and his distribution business will be continued with red gaint movies.

“I thank and congratulate Hon’ble Chief Minister @mkstalin for giving me the opportunity to participate in the Dravidian model government Cabinet that implements social justice programs and protects the welfare of Tamils. I will always work with responsibility,” Junior Stalin tweeted.

Last month, Udhayanidhi Stalin was retained as youth wing chief by the party for another term.A first time MLA, Udhayanidhi was elected in 2021 Assembly election from the Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni Assembly Constituency here.

An actor and filmmaker, he was a star campaigner for the party in the polls and his campaign style, like posing with a brick to target the BJP for the ‘delay’ in construction of AIIMS in Madurai drew attention.

In an official release, the Raj Bhavan said: “The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (M K Stalin) has recommended to the Governor of Tamil Nadu (R N Ravi) to induct Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni Assembly Constituency in the Council of Ministers.”

His induction into the Cabinet was expected ever since the DMK snatched power from arch-rival AIADMK in May 2021.
