Jailer 2 has crossed another big milestone, this time on BookMyShow. Rajinikanth’s film has sold more than 1 crore (10 million) tickets on the platform, becoming the first Tamil film ever to do so.
Jailer’s Record Falls
The previous record for a Tamil film on BookMyShow was held by Rajinikanth’s own Jailer, which sold around 9.2 million tickets. Jailer 2 has now gone past that and crosses the 10 million mark today.

It’s worth noting that this record is based on the data BookMyShow has shared since it started officially publishing hourly booking updates on its platform. Films from earlier years aren’t part of this comparison.
Even so, crossing 1 crore tickets on a single platform shows the massive scale of Jailer 2’s run.
Records From Day 1
Jailer 2 has been breaking BookMyShow records from the start. Before release, it sold a record 84,000 tickets in a single hour on the platform, the highest ever for a Tamil film.
1 Crore Tickets, ₹700 Cr Worldwide
The milestone comes on the same day Jailer 2 became Kollywood’s all-time industry hit, crossing 2.0 to become the first Tamil film to collect ₹700 Cr worldwide.
With the film still running strongly, the ticket count is set to climb much higher in the coming weeks
