However, the film’s collections did not reflect this at the box office, surprising both the trade and audiences. Initially, many believed that the release of Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 the following week affected Andhra King Taluka’s weak performance despite a strong word-of-mouth. But with Akhanda 2 postponed due to financial hurdles, buyers expected a rise in collections. Unfortunately, the film failed to show any improvement, even during the weekend when a jump was anticipated.
Here, we can point to two main reasons. First, family audiences and general viewers may not connect emotionally with films centered on the cinema industry or movie stars, unlike commercial entertainers or family dramas. Second, in today’s market, the first weekend is crucial, often contributing up to 80% of a film’s total box office. Since Andhra King Taluka had only an average opening and did not grow in its first weekend, its theatrical run is almost over.
As a result, the postponement of Akhanda 2 has not helped the film, and audiences appear to have already moved on, leaving Andhra King Taluka struggling to recover at the box office.
