Tollywood Shock: No Ticket Hikes or Benefit Shows Allowed

Tollywood gets a shock as Telangana govt says there will be no ticket hikes or benefit shows allowed. It is widely known that since the Sandhya theater stampede incident, the Telangana CM, Revanth Reddy has concentrated on Telugu Film Industry. 

Today the industry people met the Telangana government, and everyone expected that the industry people would convince the govt regarding the benefit shows and ticket hikes along with some other issues. However, surprisingly the government declares a mandate and instructed few more for them. Tollywood gets a shock as Telangana govt says there will be no ticket hikes or benefit shows allowed.

Government Mandates for Tollywood:

  • Actors to participate in campaigns for the Caste Census Survey.
  • Heroes, heroines and Industry to lead anti-drug awareness campaigns.
  • No benefit shows or arbitrary ticket price hikes.
  • Mandatory anti-drug videos in theaters before screenings.
  • Special cess on movie tickets.

“We are not against Tollywood. We are at the forefront of solving the problems of Tollywood. We will form a committee on the request to provide more concessions for shooting in Telangana. Film events will be allowed only if there are prior permissions and adequate security. There won’t be any more benefit shows. We stand by what we have said in the Assembly: CM Revanth Reddy”.
