The Raja Saab Hindi Prospects Dull

Prabhas raised his market significantly with the Baahubali series. His next film, Saaho, performed well in North India despite receiving mixed reviews. Later, films like Salaar and Kalki also opened strongly and earned good collections in the Hindi market. However, looking at the promotions for his upcoming film The Raja Saab, its box office prospects in Hindi appear dull.

After Baahubali, Radhe Shyam was the only Prabhas film that failed to open with double-digit net collections in the Hindi market in India. All his other films registered strong openings. Now, The Raja Saab is expected to open with only single-digit collections in the Hindi belts. The team has not promoted the film aggressively in Hindi-speaking regions, so its performance will now depend heavily on word of mouth and reviews.

Radhe Shyam remains the only recent Prabhas film that failed to achieve a ₹10 crore opening and a ₹100 crore total collection in the Hindi market. In comparison, The Raja Saab is also likely to have a modest start due to the lack of strong buzz. To reach ₹100 crore in Hindi, the film will need exceptionally strong word of mouth.

Not just in Hindi, the film is also carrying limited buzz in the Tamil market. Only the Telugu version is expected to open decently, mainly due to Prabhas’s stardom. Even in Telugu, however, the film is unlikely to open as big as his recent movies, based on the current advance booking trends.
