The Raja Saab was initially planned as a small-budget film, but the project later transformed into a massive-budget venture. Director Maruthi and his team officially revealed that the filmโs total budget crossed โน400 Cr. But sadly, The Raja Saab resulted in a 100 Cr loss for the producer.
According to strong industry buzz, the actual production cost is close to โน350 Cr, and trade experts believe the makers may have added interest and additional expenses to project the budget at โน400 Cr.
Excluding non-theatrical rights, pre-release trade estimates suggested that The Raja Saab needed a โน200 Cr+ theatrical share to break even. Showing huge confidence in the film, the producer avoided an outright sale. Instead, he opted for a commission-based deal, taking only advances from distributors, a bold and risky move.
Unfortunately, The Raja Saab is currently heading towards just โน100 Cr theatrical share, resulting in a massive โน100 Cr loss for the producer. This outcome has shocked industry circles and raised questions about big-budget risks in the current market.
