Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel had an excellent 1st weekend at the box office, The film’s worldwide gross expected to be around 55 Cr for 3 days and this will be the biggest 1st weekend for Naga Chaitanya and for all the Akkineni heroes as well. Thandel Joins 50 Cr Club in 3 Days.
The film also became the fastest 50 Cr grosser for Akkineni Family Heroes. The positive aspect is Thandel showed a superb hold on Sunday’s second shows. This is a very good thing and it is a positive sign for the film as it suggests a better hold during weekdays. Akkineni fans are on cloud nine with the film’s success. The movie recovered around 75% on 1st weekend for the buyers, and it needs a decent hold to achieve break even on weekdays. If it holds good on weekdays then definitely it has higher chances to join the 50 Cr share club along with entering the 100 Cr gross club.
Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is based on true events, focusing on a fisherman named Thandel Raju (played by Chaitanya) who, along with his fellow fishermen, loses his way at sea and accidentally drifts into Pakistani waters, resulting in their capture and imprisonment in a Pakistani jail.
