Thalapathy 69 is a landmark film and one of the most anticipated Kollywood movies of 2025. There are massive expectations for the project as it is the last film of Vijay before he plunges into active politics. Being the last Vijay film, fans were curious about the movie’s plot.

Till now there were strong rumours that Thalapathy 69 would be a remake of Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari. It appears that there’s truth to these rumours as producer’s closer circles informed that they have bought the official remake rights of the Telugu film.

H. Vinoth said is making changes to the plot to suit Vijay’s image. Sree Leela’s role will be reprised by Premam heroine Mamitha Baiju. While Bhagavanth Kesari has great commercial viability, this news has hurt several Vijay fans who were hoping for a fresh subject for his last movie.

It now needs to be seen how H. Vinoth adapts these changes and shows Thalapathy on screen. The decision to remake Bhagavanth Kesari was Vijay’s as he wanted to share a strong social message in his last film. Balayya starter had a strong women empowerment theme and Sree Leela’s character arc and Balayya’s elevations were one of the high points of the film.
