Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the star actress, produced her first film called Subham, which Praveen Kandregula directs. The film was released in theaters on May 9, 2025, i.e., today, and it also had a few paid premieres, which received a decent response. Let’s check whether the film lives up to the hype in our Subham Review.

Story:

Subham centers on three friends in Bheemili. Srinivas’s friends teach him about being an alpha male before his wedding. Srinivas’s first night goes off course with the arrival of the TV show Janma Janmala Bandham. The core plot revolves around Srinivas and his friends overcoming obstacles in their lives that are connected to the TV serial.

Performances:

Harshith Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, and Charan Peri fit their roles well, with Harshit making a stronger impression as the lead. The three actors perfectly embody their character types. Shriya Kontham stands out among the heroines, with Shravani Lakshmi and Shalini Kondepudi next in line. Madhumani, the experienced actress playing the mother, along with Vamshidhar Gaud, makes a notable impact. Samantha’s role is limited and ineffective. Her character feels distracting and ends suddenly.

Praveen Kandregula, known for Cinema Bandi, directs Subham. This story offers a relatable message through humor based on a unique idea revolving around a TV serial. Gangavva’s opening scene sets the tone for the movie. Following this, we are introduced to the key cast members, their connections, and the film’s main theme.

The situational humor is decent, and things become intriguing before the intermission, creating anticipation for the second half. The story keeps its pace right after the break in Subham. Soon, the repetitiveness stands out in the latter half. Using characters from Cinema Bandi gives this film a convenient vibe. The middle segments in the latter part stretch out time, but the climax message delivers the right impact with the TV serial and the actual characters’ realization regarding the marriage relationship and Alpha-Male traits.
