Kanguva Starring Suriya is one of the most prestigious projects of Kollywood. The film is currently undershoot and aiming for October 10th as release date. But the film has now faced setback with Vettaiyan setting a clash. Vettaiyan stars Rajinikanth in the lead role which could be a headache for Kanguva to score big at the box office. Now another film, Sky Force starring Akshay Kumar has been postponed from its scheduled release date on October 2nd. So, Kanguva is now targeting this October 2nd date for its release day to avoid a clash with Vettaiyan.

October 2nd is also a public holiday due to Gandhi Jayanthi. So the film will get a big opening everywhere. There are no big Pan Indian films till Devara which released on 27th September.
