Bollywood fans were thrilled when Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani announced their third collaboration as a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke. However, fans will be disappointed to learn that the project has now been shelved.
According to reports, the Aamir-Rajkumar Hirani film has been put on hold due to script issues. Both have decided not to move forward until they create a story with strong and universal appeal.
Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan reportedly met Dadasaheb Phalke’s family several times, and the family even gave official permission (NOC) for the project. However, the final version of the script did not satisfy the team.
Interestingly, before this, SS Rajamouli had also planned a Dadasaheb Phalke biopic with NTR, not as a director, but as a supervisor with another filmmaker directing it. That project too was dropped when Aamir and Hirani began working on their version. Now, it remains to be seen whether Rajamouli will revive his plan or leave it aside.
