Director Shankar has been rewarded as the best filmmaker of South Indian Cinema for many years. Two films, Indian 2 and Game Changer, changed his image, and now, Shankar’s dream project, Velpari, awaits a producer’s backing.
Set to be made as a three-part film, Velpari was already announced by the Enthiran director as his biggest project. He also finished the script work.
If Indian 2 and Game Changer had succeeded at the box office, this film could have been officially announced. But because of those failures, Shankar’s dream project, Velpari, awaits a producer’s backing.

In the latest public event, the veteran director once again mentioned that Velpari is his dream project.
He said that Enthiran was his previous dream project, but Velpari is his dream film now. It has the scope to introduce new technologies, like Game of Thrones and Avatar, and it has all the chances to become a proud Indian-Tamil film.
Finding a producer for such a massive project looks definitely tough for Shankar now. We need to wait and see whether the director will wait for a producer for the mega biggie, or if he chooses any other film.
