Samantha’s latest film, Shaakuntalam, will be released on April 14 in theaters worldwide in several languages. Shaakuntalam derives its inspiration from the play Abhignyaya Shakuntalam, written by Kalidasa. The film reflects one of the epic love stories of Indian Cinema.

Shaakuntalam is at present promoted by the team on a large scale. The film unit, comprising Samantha, Gunasekhar, producers Neelima Guna and Dil Raju, and lead actor Dev Mohan, recently promoted the film in Kochi and Mumbai. The team is trying to make the film accessible to the audience in various languages.

The makers are expecting the 3D version to turn out as a huge plus point for the movie. Because of the decision to make in 3D, the budget of the movie has been increased, and it got postponed multiple times according to the reports. Now the team of Shaakuntalam have planned a 3D version special premier on Today and Wednesday for industry people.

Gunasekhar directed Samantha’s Shaakuntalam, and it is presented by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations together with Gunaa Team works and produced by Neelima Guna. Dev Mohan plays King Dushyant’s role in this film, while Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha plays Prince Bharata. Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Gauthami, Madhoo, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananya Nagalla will be seen in crucial roles. Mani Sharma composed the tunes for this film.
