Santhana Prapthirasthu stars Colour Phot fame Chandini Chowdhary in the lead role, along with Vikranth and Muralidhar Goud. The film’s promos and posters have impressed audiences, and let us check whether the film provides the expected output in our review.

Story:

Chaitanya (Vikranth) is a software employee living in Hyderabad. Being an introvert, he has trouble communicating with women. One day, he randomly helps Kalyani (Chandini Chowdary), and their chance encounter slowly turns into love. Despite Eshwar Rao (Muralidhar Goud), Kalyani’s father, being against their marriage, the couple decides to tie the knot anyway. The story takes a turn when Chaitanya finds out about his low sperm count, coinciding with Eshwar Rao’s return to cause trouble. The rest of the film is about what kind of problems Chaitanya faces afterward.

Performances:

Vikranth has made noticeable progress since Spark, his first film, and he did a fine job with his part this time around. Chandini Chowdhary gets a solid lead role, and she totally nailed it. She embodies the girl-next-door vibe perfectly. Chandini’s performance in emotional moments feels authentic.

As the heroine’s father, Muralidhar Goud provides laughs and handles emotional moments well. Abhinav Gomatam keeps the laughs coming, thanks to the awesome support from Tharun Bhascker and Vennela Kishore.

Analysis:

Sanjeev Reddy directs Santhana Prapthirasthu, which dives into the serious subject of male infertility while keeping things light and entertaining. The coolest thing is that the movie stays classy and never gets vulgar or below the belt.

The movie largely banks on entertainment, which works quite well. Much of the comedy comes from Muralidhar Goud’s depiction of a father against his daughter marrying someone he doesn’t approve of.

The beginning feels slow, and the love scenes in the first half are average. But the flashbacks’ wise narration is well done, and the fun parts or jokes mostly land well. The latter part features entertaining bits and a few heartfelt scenes.

The director did a decent job with the emotional scenes, but the film would have hit harder if the drama before the climax had been more impactful, and he could also have handled the scenes where the hero faces challenges to not reveal his secret and yet has to stay calm more effectively.

Positives:

  • Chandini Chowdhary and Muralidhar Goud’s Performance
  • Neatly Handled Entertainment Portions
  • Few Emotional Scenes

Negatives:

  • Predictability in the Second Half
  • Stretched feels around the climax

Santhana Prapthirasthu Review and Verdict:

Santhana Prapthirasthu is a decent entertainer with a unique plot point. While it offers genuine performances and plenty of entertainment, some clichéd moments in the second half keep it to a standard level.
