In the film industry, regardless of what the combo is, a good release date always works as an advantage for the film and at the same time, a bad date will impact negatively. Now the same is happening with Prabhas’s Pan Indian film, Salaar. If all the things had gone as planned, the film would have been released tomorrow. But due to the delay in work, it got postponed. Now, the new release date of December 22 is impacting crores of theatrical business for Salaar.
Recently, the makers of Salaar announced that they will release the film on 22nd December. Now if the film had been released as per the plans then definitely there will be mostly no negotiations in the business as there would have been no competition for the film, but now the movie is planning for the Christmas weekend.
So certainly in North Markets and Overseas the impact will be very high on theatrical business. Even in the Southern markets, the Telugu states distributors are not okay with the massive prices as Salaar makers expected 200Cr business in Telugu states now they are only getting the business of 150Cr which is also depends on the trailer. The same can be said with other languages as well.
In Tamil, Dhanush’s Captain Miller will be released on 15th December and In Kerala, Mohanlal – Jeethu Joseph’s combo film is getting released on 21st December. In Telugu also, we will have to wait and see whether the movies that have already announced the release date will be postponed or not.
