The latest romantic entertainer film ‘Saiyaara’, directed by director Mohit Suri, has been released in theaters recently and creating havoc at the box office with superb collections. Let’s see how much this film, starring Ahaan Pandey and Aneeth Padda, impresses the audience in this review.

Story:

Krish Kapoor, brought to life by Ahaan Panday, is a self-centered and easily angered musician trying to score a huge break. He bumps into Vaani (Aneet Padda), a reserved wannabe journalist who was jilted on her wedding day. Krish stumbles upon her diary packed with lyrics. He makes them into songs, and they become super popular. They both fall in love.

But fate messes things up, and the two get split up. The rest of the movie shows whether the couple gets back together and what challenges they face.

Performances:

Ahaan Panday steps into the spotlight as Krish with a lot of confidence. He nails a tough role right out of the gate, and that’s worth some applause, though he has to improve in some areas.

Aneet Padda takes on a tricky role, and she nails it. She totally shines on screen, and Ahaan and Aneet have some real chemistry together. Their performance is what keeps the narrative flow well. Geeta Agarwal is natural as the mother of the heroine, while the other supporting actors do not register.

Analysis:

When it comes to the story, Saiyaara doesn’t bring anything new to the table since Mohit’s romantic flicks usually hit the same notes—you can easily predict what happens next. Recently, the director pointed out that Saiyaara represents what Aashiqui 3 could have been, and he is spot on. The movie totally vibes with the Aashiqui universe.

Music has always been a highlight in Mohit’s movies, and in Saiyyara, it works again. Tanishk Bagchi, Arslan Abdullah, and Faheem Nizami create heartfelt music.

The first half does a good job of establishing the mood, and while the second half gets more emotional, it starts to feel a bit drawn out because you can guess what is going to happen next.

Mohit could have made the tension between the leads more intense instead of just repeating the scenes where the hero and heroine’s relationship faces troubles. Yet, Mohit knows exactly what his audience wants and delivers a perfect ending to the film.

Positives:

  • Ahaan Pandey – Aneet Padda’s Performance
  • Soulful Music
  • Emotional Scenes/Dialogues

Negatives:

  • Predictable Scenes in the Second Half
  • Hero’s Character Not Explored Fully
  • Slow Moments at a Few Places

Saiyaara Movie Review and Verdict:

Saiyaara may not bring anything new in terms of storytelling, and it has a share of predictable and drawn-out moments, but it strikes the right emotional chords with exceptional performance from the lead pair, Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, and soulful music makes it work.
