This is an age of many alleged propaganda films. We saw films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story. Both these films are based on real-life incidents but carry propaganda inside them. As said many call them propaganda films. Razakar: The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad is also one such film.
The film made with a huge star cast boasts a budget of around 40 crores. But the film has failed miserably at the box office. The targeted Nizam audience did not show much interest in the film. Razakar has ended up as a huge cost failure film. The theatrical recovery is not even 10% of the budget. The prominence of the lesser star cast is the main reason for the film’s failure. Anasuya Bharadwaj was the only known star cast in the film.
It became monotony for the audience to encourage such films. This also added up as a disadvantage for the film. Many even feel that Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP is behind these films. This was even countered by R. Narayana Murthy, legendary Actor in the pre-release event of the film. He openly said that Hindu Gods belong to all parties and people but not only to BJP.
