Rashmika Mandanna has broken her silence on the online storm around her Koffee With Karan comments about her marriage to Vijay Deverakonda. In a long, heartfelt note shared on X, she hit back at the trolls and made it clear that she has no regrets.
What Started It
On Koffee With Karan Season 9, Vijay revealed that Rashmika had asked him to marry her “100 times,” and Rashmika added that she kept asking him “for an entire year.”
The couple shared it as a light, fun moment. But a section of social media turned it into a debate, with many commenting on their relationship, questioning Vijay’s hesitation and passing judgement on Rashmika.
“An Angry Mob Looking for Someone to Vent At”
Rashmika addressed her note to “those who deeply love and to those who are permanently bitter.”
She said she usually doesn’t respond to such things, because everyone has a right to their opinion. “But the current frenzy over our interview feels less like people having opinions and more like an angry mob looking for someone to vent at,” she wrote.
She said the couple had been “bombarded with opinions, comments and unsolicited advice” on all their profiles, and that the intensity of it genuinely shook her.
“It Was Never About the Number”
Rashmika explained what the “100 times” moment was really about.
“First, it was never about the number of times or an entire year. That’s where some of you got stuck,” she wrote.
She confirmed the conversation did happen, but said neither of them was looking for a grand proposal. According to her, Vijay simply wanted both of them to take time to understand each other and be sure, through all the highs and lows of life, that this was what they wanted and that it was the right time.
“And we did. We chose each other,” she said.
“I Am All Heart and He Is the Thinker”
Rashmika said there was nothing wrong with her being certain while Vijay took his time.
“It’s okay that I knew exactly what I wanted. And it was equally okay that he wanted time to think through the practical things in life and be sure,” she wrote. “I am all heart and he is the thinker, and we need that in each other’s lives.”
She added that for them, marriage was never about a proposal or a ring. “That’s the decorative part. For us, it was about building a life and a future together.”
“Yes, I Am Obsessed With My Man”
Rashmika also responded to those who mocked her for being openly in love.
“And yes, I am OBSESSED with my man. When did that become a bad thing?” she wrote. “If I’m not IN LOVE with the man I’m marrying, then why in the world would I marry him?”
She described Vijay as her companion for life, her friend through ordinary and extraordinary days, and the man she will grow old with.
“100 Is Nothing”
The line that has gone viral is her answer to the “100 times” trolling.
“Find a man who loves you so beautifully that even after you’re married, you’d still want to tell him, ‘Let’s get married.’ I would do it a thousand times. 100 is nothing. It’s really that simple,” she wrote.
“And We Chose Us”
Rashmika ended with a message for those “blinded by their own narratives.”
“We have both built our lives on our own terms, with our own choices and our own hard work. We are smart, capable adults, blessed with the freedom and privilege to choose how we want to live and whom we want to share our lives with. And we chose US,” she wrote.
“If our love doesn’t fit your imagination of what love should look like, that’s okay, no? You go live that beautiful imagination in your own life. I’ll be cheering for every happy person out there.”
Fans Rally Behind the Couple
Rashmika’s note has drawn huge support from fans, who praised her for standing up for her relationship with honesty and grace.
Vijay and Rashmika, who first worked together in Geetha Govindam, got married in Udaipur on February 26 this year. They were most recently seen together in Ranabaali.
