Most love stories have the man going down on one knee. Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s story went the other way. On Koffee With Karan Season 9, the couple revealed that it was Rashmika who kept asking Vijay to marry her, and she didn’t stop for a whole year.
“You Asked Me 100 Times”
When host Karan Johar asked if there was a proposal, Rashmika shook her head. Vijay jumped in with the answer.
“She was like, ‘Let’s get married.’ I was like, ‘Okay, you have asked me 100 times,'” Vijay said, leaving everyone in splits.
Karan wanted to know if she had really asked that many times. Rashmika didn’t deny it. “I asked him for an entire year,” she said.
“Rule No. 101 of Marriage”
The fun didn’t stop there. When Karan asked Vijay about on-screen chemistry, Vijay was quick with his answer. “Rule no. 101 of marriage: Agree with the wife,” he said.
And when Karan asked Vijay who, apart from Rashmika, he shares the best on-screen chemistry with, Rashmika cut in before he could reply. “Nobody,” she said.
Allu Arjun or Ranbir?
In the rapid-fire round, Karan asked Rashmika to pick between her two biggest co-stars, Allu Arjun and Ranbir Kapoor. She picked Allu Arjun, her Pushpa co-star.
From Geetha Govindam to Marriage
Vijay and Rashmika first worked together in Geetha Govindam in 2018, and their chemistry made the film a blockbuster. They followed it up with Dear Comrade, and fans have loved them as a pair ever since.
After years of keeping their relationship private, the couple got married on February 26 this year in Udaipur. The wedding was an intimate affair with family and close friends, and it followed both Telugu and Kodava traditions.
