Ranbir Kapoor Ramayana Trailer Cleared by CBFC, Launch Set

There is some criticism also that the team intentionally released the glimpse of Ramayana today, and it is not because of Hanuman Jayanti, but because it is producer Namit Malhotra's birthday.

The much-awaited trailer of Ranbir Kapoor‘s Ramayana has officially cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), paving the way for its grand launch on July 24, 2026. Director Nitesh Tiwari‘s epic adaptation has received the green light from the certification board, signaling that one of the year’s most anticipated promotional events is just days away.

CBFC Grants U Certificate to Two Trailer Versions

According to CBFC records, the Telugu 3D trailer received a U (Universal) certificate, making it suitable for audiences of all ages. The certification, granted by the Mumbai Regional Office on July 15, 2026, covers two versions: a primary trailer running 4 minutes and 15 seconds, and a theatrical trailer at exactly 4 minutes. The extended runtime promises an in-depth look at the film’s visual grandeur and storytelling scope.

Star-Studded Ensemble and Massive Production Scale

Mounted on an unprecedented budget, Ramayana brings together one of Indian cinema’s most impressive casts. Ranbir Kapoor leads as Lord Rama, with Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The epic's major cast was revealed last year to widespread excitement across the country. Produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part saga features music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Global Launch and Comic-Con Preview

The makers have planned a worldwide trailer release for July 24, following an exclusive first look at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23. According to Variety, the launch event will take place in New Delhi with key members of the cast and production team in attendance. Given the film’s scale and star power, industry insiders expect the trailer to break viewership records and set new benchmarks for promotional content in Indian cinema.

With the CBFC clearance now secured and the launch date locked, anticipation has reached fever pitch among moviegoers eager to witness Ranbir Kapoor‘s portrayal of Lord Rama and the film’s cutting-edge visual effects. Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release.
