Re releasing a movie on Star Heroes birthdays and celebrating it in a big way in theaters is the new trend in the Telugu Film Industry now. The first film to be released on a hero’s birthday was Pokiri, and it had created a sensation. After that, Jalsa was released on Pawan Kalyan’s birthday, and it broke all the records in re-release.
Later, no birthday release could break the record of Jalsa. Pawan Kalyan’s other film, Kushi had broken the record, but they did not release the film as a birthday special. The latest film to be released as a birthday special is Ram Charan’s Orange.
Orange was released on the occasion of Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s birthday, and it broke the record of Jalsa by collecting over 3.2 Crores gross and the movie is still running in the theaters. The film has registered massive occupancy in maximum areas and most of the shows were house fulls. The team planned and executed the re-release pretty well. Firstly, they opened the screening for limited shows and, with the demand, they continuously increased the number of shows.
Directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar, the film was released in 2010 and became one of the biggest box office failures. But in the years that followed, the film gained a cult following and social media users continued to discuss the film until now. The collections from the re-release of Orange will be donated to the Jana Sena Party.
