The much-awaited Rajinikanth–Kamal Haasan multistarrer has been officially confirmed, with Nelson set to direct the film. The regular shoot is planned to begin by the end of this year. While simultaneously handling the post-production work of Jailer 2, Nelson has already started the pre-production process for this ambitious project.
The latest update is that the film was officially launched with a special promo shoot that began yesterday at Prasad Studios. This promo is being filmed primarily to finalize the film’s OTT rights, with leading platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video reportedly competing for the deal. Mounted on a massive budget, the film is shaping up to be one of the biggest projects in Indian cinema.
Rajini-Kamal Multistarrer to Lock OTT Deals Before Shoot Begins
While the promo shoot of Rajinikanth–Kamal Haasan is currently underway, Nelson and the team plan to start the regular shooting by the end of the year. With this announcement, the makers aim to lock all non-theatrical deals even before the main shoot begins.
In the meantime, Rajinikanth will complete another film directed by Cibi Chakravarthy, which is also being produced by Kamal Haasan. Kamal Haasan, on the other hand, will wrap up his commitments for the Kalki sequel and the Anbarivu project before joining this much-anticipated collaboration.
