Rajinikanth and Balakrishna to Be Honoured on Big Stage

Veteran star actors Rajinikanth and Nandamuri Balakrishna are set to receive a rare honor on a big stage. The Central Government has announced that both actors will be felicitated for completing 50 years in the film industry. The felicitation will take place at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI-2025), which will be held in Goa this year.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, revealed this news while speaking to reporters after a meeting with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

He said, “Rajinikanth and Nandamuri Balakrishna have completed 50 years in cinema, and as a part of the IFFI-2025 celebrations, we will honor both these legendary actors. They have entertained audiences for decades with their exceptional performances and memorable stories. To recognize their contribution to Indian cinema, they will be felicitated during the closing ceremony. This will be a milestone in the history of Indian cinema.”

The International Film Festival of India, one of the most prestigious events in the film industry, will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28. Many prominent film personalities are expected to attend the event.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth recently appeared in the film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie features several well-known actors, including Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Upendra, and Aamir Khan. Rajinikanth is currently working on Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

On the other hand, Nandamuri Balakrishna is gearing up for his upcoming film Akhanda 2: Tandavam, which is set to release on December 5.
