If everything goes as planned, Salaar will surely be the biggest profitable venture for Hombale Films. Salaar marks the collaboration of Brand Baahubali and Brand KGF and this is why there are massive anticipations on the project.
When the film began its shoot, there were no doubts about its box office potential and the impact it would have across the industries. But after the shooting completion, the real struggles began for Hombale Films as Prashant Neel wanted to reshoot many scenes. This led to the expansion of the budget and a greater financial burden. Many scenes were reshot. now the buzz is the team removed this lot of footage as well as they felt it would not work for the film.
The deleted footage is said to be very long and the producer obviously lost crores of money on it. The childhood scenes of Prabhas and Prithivi Raj scenes said to be removed for the most part. On the other hand, the business of Salaar both theatrical and non-theatrical did not match the producer’s expectations due to postponements, clash with Dunki, and apprehensions from OTT giants.
Due to all these reasons, Hombale Films has lost crores of money already. This is the reason the producer doesn’t want to postpone the film again at any cost. Reshooting the scenes at the post-production level and deleting a lot of footage definitely impacted the film and was not expected from Prashant Neel
In the current scenario, Salaar producers are safe and will have profits but those are very minimal profits compared to expected profits. Normally if the budget was in their control the producers would have released the film on their own by taking advances but now producers are selling the film to distributors in all areas. The budget increases change the producer’s profits and minimize the profits and the issue is mainly deleting the footage because it directly loses crores of money to the producers.
