Two big films from South Indian cinema, Jana Nayagan and The Raja Saab, are releasing on 9th January. Jana Nayagan leads Prabhas and Maruthi’s film in the USA premieres battle set on 8th January.
If we observe the business or market, The Raja Saab has to do more than double Jana Nayagan’s numbers, but the advance sales are not going in the expected lines. Jana Nayakudu is carrying massive craze as it is the last film of Vijay, but Prabhas’s horror comedy does not carry much buzz for now.
In North America, The Raja Saab’s pre-sales are at $350K, whereas Jana Nayagan is carrying $400K in pre-sales, which means it is leading in the USA premieres battle. The shocking part is The Raja Saab’s bookings were opened in over 1000 shows, whereas Jana Nayagan’s is just between 500 shows. Still, Vijay’s film has sold more tickets, which is not a good sign for The Raja Saab.
The Raja Saab needs a big push in advances in this crucial release week, or else it will register a very average opening at the box office.
