Premalu (2024), a romantic comedy film starring Naslen and Mamitha Baiju, has emerged as a sensation in Kerala. With a worldwide gross of INR 135 crore, it is one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. Following its success, it has been dubbed and released in Telugu with the same title.
Expectedly, the film received praise from not just audiences but from the likes of Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli. Premalu emerged as a commercial success in Telugu as well. Streaming platform ‘Aha’ has acquired the digital rights to this film for an undisclosed price.
As officially announced by the company via Twitter, Premalu has been streamed for a record 125 million minutes on Aha. No other Malayalam film has enjoyed this level of success among Telugu audiences. A direct sequel titled ‘Premalu-2’ has been announced long ago.
