Kalki: 2898 AD is undoubtedly the biggest film of the year in terms of budget, star cast, and box-office potential. While the project initially struggled with creating buzz among audiences, its prelude animated series ‘Bujji & Bhairava’ has emerged as a breath of fresh air with massive viewership on Prime Video.
Considering this, the trade expects this Prabhas-starrer to have a record opening at the box office. But, as we all know, the government of Andhra Pradesh hasn’t been kind to the Telugu film fraternity in terms of ticket hikes and special show permissions.
Now that the government has changed and the film’s producer, Ashwini Dutt, is a close associate of Chandrababu Naidu (who’s expected to become the new Chief Minister), the newly formed government is expected to be generous in granting permissions and ticket hikes. Having said that, Kalki: 2898 AD is expected to register record numbers in Telugu states surpassing those of RRR (2022).
