Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn, a highly celebrated Indian film actor, director, and producer. Widely considered one of the most popular stars in Hindi cinema, he has impressively appeared in over a hundred films throughout his career. Because of his incredible talent, he has won numerous prestigious awards, including two National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. Furthermore, the Government of India proudly honored him with the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth-highest civilian award, in 2016.

Early Career and Award-Winning Performances

Interestingly, Devgn began his professional acting career with a massive hit in the 1991 film Phool Aur Kaante. Consequently, he received a well-deserved Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Building on this exciting early success, he delivered a critically acclaimed performance in Mahesh Bhatt’s 1998 drama, Zakhm. Ultimately, this powerful role earned him his very first National Film Award for Best Actor.

The following year, he starred in the highly talked-about 1999 romantic drama Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. He beautifully played Vanraj, a devoted man who selflessly tries to unite his wife with her lover. By consistently delivering remarkable performances and starring in over a hundred Hindi films, he firmly established himself as an absolute leading actor in the industry.

Expanding Into Production and Directing

In addition to his incredible acting work, Devgn is also a highly successful filmmaker. Specifically, he owns his own production company, Ajay Devgn FFilms, which he officially established in 2000. Later on, he proudly took a step behind the camera, making his exciting directorial debut in 2008 with the film U Me Aur Hum.

Personal Life and Family

Outside of his busy professional life, he has been happily married to the beloved film actress Kajol since 1999, and the wonderful couple shares two children. Finally, as a fun piece of trivia, he notably changed the spelling of his surname from Devgan to Devgn in August 2009 upon the request of his family.
