iBomma admin Ravi’s arrest is now shaking the industry and the internet as well. Police revealed a few shocking details about him and said he stole personal information from the users, but still, people are backing him as they are against the ticket hikes in theaters.
According to the police, Ravi had stolen personal data of 5 million subscribers and earned 20 crores with this piracy. The accused diverted lakhs of users from piracy platforms to illegal betting sites, fuelling large-scale financial fraud and data theft.
Even in this scenario, people are still backing iBomma on the internet. Many sections of people still do not feel that he committed a big crime. This is mainly due to audiences not being able to watch the films and other content for free because of the unaffordable ticket prices.
Especially after COVID-19’s 2nd wave, the ticket prices took a big turn, and recently, the ticket prices officially went above 1000 Rs for premieres with hikes.
Whenever the industry requests to stop piracy, people question the industry to make ticket prices more affordable.
This is the reason people still support iBomma, or any other piracy website. However, people need to consider that piracy sites steal personal data, leading to data theft, financial fraud, and even illegal activities like betting. People should stop watching films on piracy sites, not for the industry, but for their own security. They need to stop accessing films through these platforms.
Also, the Telugu Film industry at this time needs to think about the ticket prices and has to create a habit in people to come to theatres and watch films like before.
